Running Club Registration

February 26 – May 7
Wednesdays, 3:30-4:30pm

$125 Running Club Registration for Enrolled After School Program students
$150  for Non-enrolled After School Program students

Maximum of 25 Runners

Running is much more than just a repeated movement; its ability to not only challenge you physically, but your mind and who you are is what makes it so special.

  • Games & Activities, Incentives & Awards
  • Fun, Fitness & Friendships
  • T-shirt
  • Run The Greenway*
  • End of Season Party
  • Themed Runs: some sessions will have a theme, which include barefoot running, trail running, speed + agility and obstacle course
  • No running experience required
  • Club will not meet on April 16 (Spring break)

RUNNING CLUB WILL MEET 10 WEEKS AND PRACTICES CONSIST OF:

  • Run Discussion
  • Lap tracking + Shoe Collection
  • Run Specific Drill/Exercise
  • Logging Some Laps
  • Cooldown
  • Weekly Training Schedule – this is a 5k training plan for runners and parents to follow as we progress through each week to our 5k race

WE WILL HOLD DISCUSSIONS ON TOPICS INCLUDING:

  • Injury Prevention
  • Shoes
  • Cross Training
  • Progression
  • Race Day
  • Recovery & Rest

* Run The Greenway 5k/10k/Fun Run –  Saturday, May 4

The Fitwize Running Club will participate in the Run the Greenway 5k/10k/Fun Run located at Loudoun Station. Participants need to register separately for this event and ensure they have a buddy to run with prior to registering for the race.

COACH BERNSTEIN’s BIO 

Mr. Bernstein is the Fitwize Operations Manager, Certified Personal Trainer and Runner Enthusiast. He has led our Running Club for the past 9+ years, completed 4 marathons, Half and Full Ironmans and a 50-miler. Just this past weekend, he completed the 4x4x48 challenge where he ran 4 miles every 4 hour for 48 hours! As you can see, he has a passion for running and hopes to pass this along to your runner while having fun in a no-stress, positive, encouraging environment.
